Levain Style Chocolate Chip Cookies
These gorgeous tall fudgy Levain Style Chocolate Chip Cookies are inspired by the wonderful Levain bakery in New York City. This recipe is easy, has a rich chocolatey flavour (which is perfect for chocolate lovers like me), and is packed with peanut butter chips! Yum!

I absolutely love how tall these cookies are. Theyโre a really chunky, thick cookies that is ultra-satisfying to eat!
What do they taste like?
Chocolate and peanut butter! And lots of chips too. These cookies are perfect for lovers of this classic flavour combo!
The ingredients you’ll need to make these Levain Style Chocolate Chip Cookies!
Butter – I used softened unsalted butter.
Sugar – I used granulated sugar but caster sugar would work too.
Eggs – I used large eggs.
Cocoa powder – itโs important to use really good quality cocoa powder here and make sure itโs unsweetened cocoa powder.
All-purpose flour – otherwise known as plain flour.
Cake flour – this is a much lighter flour that is lower in gluten and results in a light cookie.
Baking soda – also known as bicarb soda.
Cornstarch – also known as corn flour.
Salt – I used fine salt.
Peanut butter Chips – You can use any flavored chocolate chips for this cookie. White, milk, or dark chocolate will also work.

Levain Style Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
Levain Style Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 1 cup / 225 g unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups / 315 g granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup / 50 g Dutch process cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups / 225 g all-purpose flour
- 1 cup / 150 g cake flour
- 3/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 cups / 600 g peanut butter chips

Instructions
Levain Style Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Preheat your oven to 200ยฐC / 410ยฐF. Line three baking sheets with baking paper. Set aside.
- Add the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, cake flour, baking soda, cornstarch and salt to a small mixing bowl and use a whisk to combine. Set aside.
- Add the butter and sugar into a large mixing bowl. Use an electric hand mixer to cream until pale and fluffy. About 3 minutes. Add the eggs one at a time and mix each time until well combined. Youโll want to scrape down the bowl before you add each egg. Add the dry ingredients and use a wooden spoon or spatula to mix everything until a dough forms and no dry ingredients are showing. Add the peanut butter chips and mix until evenly distributed in the dough.
- Use a large ice cream scoop (holds 3 tbsp) to double scoop balls of dough. So all up the dough balls will be 6tbsp in size. You donโt want to shape these into balls, leave them a rough ball shape but flatten slightly before baking. Add 4 cookies on each tray before baking. Bake for 7 minutes. Cookies will be very fudgy and soft when they come out of the oven. Let them cool completely on the tray before serving.
